Manage the daily operations of the maintenance department ensuring compliance, safety, and best practices for corrective and preventative maintenance procedures are followed including accurate completion of the preventative maintenance program.
Truck dispatchers coordinate and manage the schedules of truck drivers to ensure products and goods are picked up and delivered in a timely manner. They receive calls for truck services and contact their fleet of truck drivers to arrange the pickups and deliveries.
Establishing and maintaining national supplier and vendor relationships and expertly communicating market conditions are among the primary tasks of this job.
- Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers.
- Load and unload cargo.
- Record cargo deliveries.
- Refuel and clean vehicle.
- Report road incidents to the dispatcher.
- Follow traffic laws.
- Inspect trucks and record issues.
- Follow accident procedures.
